The Mono

Clean lines, dark tones and a home designed with purpose.

When our clients first came to us, they had a vision for their next home, but needed the right piece of land to bring it to life. We helped them source their ideal section in Manu Park, Waikanae, before getting to work alongside our architect to create a home designed specifically for them.

At Elevation Homes, we believe a great home starts long before construction begins. It comes from understanding our clients, how they want to live, what matters most to them and where their money is best spent.

The Mono was no exception.

The design went through several iterations as we explored different rooflines, cladding combinations and finishes. Our clients ultimately fell in love with the clean, contemporary lines of James Hardie Stria, paired with the natural warmth of Abodo and a striking dark exterior.

With a carefully considered budget, our job was to make every decision count. We focused on maximising indoor and outdoor flow, creating functional, beautiful spaces and achieving a sense of openness without adding unnecessary cost. It was about being clever with the design and investing in the details that would make the biggest difference to everyday living.

One of those priorities was the master suite. Our clients wanted a space that felt like their own retreat, somewhere to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. Large windows open the room up to the outdoors, creating a beautiful connection with the environment and a pretty special outlook to wake up to each morning. We also considered how the home would work for our clients well into the future, incorporating solar power and electric vehicle charging provisions to support their changing needs.

The landscaping is the next chapter, with our clients taking the reins to put their own finishing touches on the property. For us, The Mono represents exactly what a bespoke home should be. Not simply a beautiful house, but one where the design, budget and practical decisions have all been carefully considered around the people who will call it home. From finding the right section to handing over the keys, we loved being part of bringing this one to life.
